Over 30 years experience in the aviation industry as a senior airline captain for both TAP Portugal and Etihad Airways. Jorge has a passion for crew management and training and is currently a type rating instructor on A320/A330. His extensive operational experience, combined with academic specialisation in Human Factors & Aviation Safety, uniquely positions him to bridge the gap between the worlds of policy, research and operations.

After more than 30 years flying at the “sharp end” Jorge has seen first-hand how safety slogans may be ineffective if not embodied in a “just culture” backed by strong management commitment to safety. Jorge’s mission is to help people understand the importance of safety as a value and how individuals and teams can build a sustainable safety culture.
